Arrival in the UK

Arriving and living in the UK

Living in another country can be fun, exciting – and difficult at times. We know you need to be comfortable in Britain so you can get the best from your language studies. We do everything we can to support you. If you have problems we will listen and help you find the answers you need.

It's a good idea to think carefully about where you would like to stay. Homestay means that you are a guest in someone's home and have the chance to speak English with them. The home may be a busy place at times and it may not be as comfortable as your home. You may not have your own bathroom and there may be no internet connection. If these things are important to you, a hotel or guest house may be the right choice.

Some planning before you come here can help. Insurance and banking arrangements may need planning. Thinking about what clothes to bring, and any special foods from home, are important for most people. You may also like to know that there are churches, mosques and temples here – please contact us for details.
